I am responsible for the operation, management, and overall performance of Front Office and Housekeeping departments at Oakwood Residence Aoyama.
To ensure maximum guest satisfaction, I devote my time and energy to assisting all guests with my team of Customer Service Representatives and Housekeeping Clerks.
Due to the nature of service apartments, we have the opportunity to interact with our guests like family, as well as being able to establish trust with them in a professional manner. This experience is very worthwhile and fulfilling for me because of being able to build an intimate relationship with our guests.
Oakwood provides us with great opportunities to work independently in an international and friendly work environment. The great thing about Oakwood is that there are many opportunities for promotion and transferring to other departments within the organization.
I started my career as a Customer Service Representative, and have been promoted to Front Office Manager in seven years, transferring and being able to experience and build career at three different properties. Now, it is my role to support and help my teammates to become better and grow as a specialist in Front Office and Housekeeping, or support their decision to transfer to a different department. Some staff that I have worked in the past are enjoying their new position, making use of what they have learned at the Front Office.

Sales is often the first point of contact from our clients/ guests as Oakwood. Most of our guests are corporate clients from Fortune 500 firms, but also individuals.
I support finding the most suitable apartments for prospective guests by listening and understanding the clients’ needs and requirements, conducting property viewing, overcoming their conflicts for the stay, making reservation, and preparing the agreement. As most of our guests are coming to Tokyo from overseas, I make sure that they arrive to Tokyo without any concerns before their arrival.
Oakwood has great teamwork amongst associates from different departments and different properties. We all put our efforts to make our guests’ stay more comfortable as their home in Tokyo.
As a part of the Sales team in Japan, I am very proud of the apartments and the quality of service that our team has been consistently serving over the years.
Another great thing about Oakwood is that everyone is given a chance to transfer to an open position and expand our potentials. When I first started working as a Customer Service Representative, I did not imagine myself working in the Sales Department. At Oakwood, there are many people that I respect and want to continue working with, and gives me the opportunity to work in an environment where I can enjoy and grow.

My job is to ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to Oakwood standards.
I work with a team of housekeepers who are all dedicated to ensuring that these standards are met and exceeded daily.
We take great pride in ensuring the property is always looking its best.
Oakwood has nice work culture and allows employees to work freely, also there is good support from seniors and employees are motivated and appreciated for their efforts. This organization also supports and courage you to take your paid-leave in full. As I have family with small children, spending time with them is very important and this support helps me to be there during their important events.
